As an industry stalwart with over 15 years’ experience in Interior Designing, I have come across a myriad of clientele from different walks of life. More often than not, each client has the same set of queries, which as interior designers, is our duty to give solutions for. Through this blog, I will take you through some of the most common and frequently asked questions by clients and my personal opinion on the same.

1. How is an interior designer different from an architect?

This is perhaps one of the most obvious questions asked by clients. As I would often
say, an architects’ primary job is to create an architectural & STRUCTURAL plan for the property, while an interior designer adds life to this building, by making the internal space functional, safe, aesthetically pleasing and liveable, by planning soft furnishing, accessories, lighting, colour schemes, flooring and sourcing the right materials.

2. Do I need to plan a budget at the beginning or as the project progresses?

At the beginning of every project, I tell my clients that having a fixed budget is imperative as it gives both the client and the service provider a systematic approach to start with the project. It also helps at the design stage since materials and finishes will reflect the budget

3. Should I follow the trend or choose my own style?

Every individual has their own style and choice; while some may prefer to add a lot of color to their homes, some might like it minimal. As professionals, it is our duty to understand the clients’ requirements and plan our project accordingly, while guiding them at every step.

4. Are you comfortable with designing spaces remotely?

At Renu Soni Interior Designs, we take pride in our ability to design spaces remotely. We have not only designed spaces within the city, but have also worked on projects across the country and even overseas.

5. What type of projects do you do?

Our portfolio includes both residential and commercial spaces. We have under our belt an array of projects ranging from restaurants, offices, cafes, hotels, gyms, salons, educational institutes and of course homes.
