The X-Bench

Hopefully you remember my last blog about the Chinese garden stool. Well, another equally versatile piece of furniture for interior decoration of homes is the X bench – an upholstered stool/bench with legs that cross over to form an X shape.0d51339a38622b04eab29c9c0e2efb31Like its counterpart the Chinese garden stool, it too can be used as a table, seat or as a decorative accent. Though not as space saving as the Chinese garden stool, the X bench is easily accommodating and looks fabulous as a pair.

Client project: Vibrant colours at play

A newly married couple from Panchkula recently had their first floor bedroom furnished. Vitrified ceramic wooden floor tiles had already been laid and wooden beam work had been carried out in the partitioned ceiling.

Furniture and soft furnishings were added to create an eclectic space with a Moroccan essence and varying shades of grey formed the basis for this palette.

The focal point of this lengthy room was the huge expanse of window.

Dressed with sheer roman blinds and eyelet curtains, the window was further enhanced with armchairs upholstered in rich vibrant hues of deep turquoise raw silk, grey chenille and scarlet cushions.

A feature wall was dressed with a muted grey tone wallpaper embossed with a geometric pattern, typical of Morocco. Fretwork – another element of Moroccan style was beautifully hand carved out of solid teak wood to make a stunning headboard of curves and swirls.

As a result, the clients welcomed their new relaxing boudoir with its rich textures and strong characteristics.
